“Girls Like Us’ Is a film project created to provide a platform for women to tell their stories. More often then not women are overlooked in the film industry. The film industry is unfortunately a bit of a boys club and we’re sick of it.

 

We intend to collect 9 short stories from a diverse range of women in Victoria and work with them to take that story to the screen. The entire production will be done with women. Women in all lead creative roles as well as crew roles. We want to show the world what we can do if we work together.

 

The idea is women supporting women to create something amazing.

 

This project is in its early stages. We are still sourcing film scripts and short stories. Once this happens we move onto filling the creative roles within the production.

 

This film currently has a budget of $10,000 with the hopes of obtaining extra funding from government bodies as well as crowd funding. The plan is to obtain funding for post so we can have a professional edit, color grade, and sound mix.
